What's good in the Body Shop please?

I've been on the website because I like the sound of the half price offer but the gift sets don't look very inspiring. I'm wondering if any of you have recommendations for any of their products that you think are good that I could get as gifts or even use as stocking fillers. TIA!

I like the vitamin e stuff - I think the exfoliator is good.
Also the make-up is good and nice packaging so good for pressies.
I really like the shea body butter too.

Celticlassie · 05/12/2012 22:19

The body butter is good but quite strongly scented, so not really for those who like subtle. My sis likes the vitamin E stuff too.

Stillstarving · 05/12/2012 22:51

Thanks for this! I wouldn't have really noticed the vitamin E stuff if you hadn't mentioned it. Good to know the makeup is good too. It's funny, I used to go there a lot years ago but haven't had anything from them in ages.

I love the Shea range, particularly the body butter. The Vitamin E range is good, the hand creams are ok, Hemp one good for very dry skin.

I recently bought the cheek/lip tint and the highlighter cream instead of my usual Benetint and Highbeam and prefer them.

I buy the small fruity giftsets for my 5 year old dd and her cousins.

Yes to vitamin E stuff - I like the day and night moisturisers.

Also tubs of body butter.

CountryBelle · 06/12/2012 07:14

Their cheek and lip stain is a beautiful colour, and less than half the price of benetint!

mummyplonk · 06/12/2012 07:17

I got the Vanilla duo Body butter at a party recently, its lovely. But the favourite in our house at the moment is the Cranberry shower gel, I wish I bought more of this really nice scent and lasts all day.

The Aloe skincare range is amazing and far superior to LIz Earle imo.

Body Butters are good as are some of the body sprays.

Hemp hand cream is nice too.

Their make up brushes are very good quality.

CuttedUpPear · 06/12/2012 08:48

I bought some of their Seaweed Mattifying Cream recently and it's amazing. It works as a moisturiser but also stops shine and closes your pores. My skin is a bit oily and usually shines, this has stopped it and I'm looking loads better.

CheungFun · 06/12/2012 08:50

I really like their Vitamin E skin are range, especially the handcream.

NeonGolden · 06/12/2012 08:51

Not a big body shop fan but I do use and love the shea body butter regularly. Perfect for someone with dry skin.

valiumredhead · 06/12/2012 08:53

Their ginger shampoo is lovely too.

CheungFun · 06/12/2012 08:56

Ohhh I like the sound of ginger shampoo, you mean ginger the stuff you eat not ginger hair shampoo right Valium?

valiumredhead · 06/12/2012 08:57

Yes ginger you eat Grin It's lovely and works like the Philip Kingsley one according to people on S and B.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 06/12/2012 09:04

The Earth Lovers Shower Gels are lovely and are usually on 3 for £6 which is very good value.

I like the almond hand products (but not the hemp although it seems very popular on other threads).

I also like the Rainforest shampoos and conditioners.

I find the Vit E stuff WAY too harsh for my skin, someone gave me a gift set of it last Christmas and it felt as though my skin was burning.

CheungFun · 06/12/2012 09:08

I'll have to pop in and buy some :o

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 06/12/2012 12:05

Buy online not from the shops, there are always lots of decent discount codes online.

valiumredhead · 06/12/2012 12:14

YY to online - every week they have a different code, last week was 45% off.

Fuckitthatlldo · 06/12/2012 14:24

I second whoever mentioned make up brushes.

Also some of the make up itself. The eyeliner pencils particularly have a really nice texture - much better than some other (much more expensive) brands I've tried.

The coconut body butter is nice.

And the banana shampoo and conditioner were gorgeous, but you don't see them about as much any more Sad
