Shoes to go with this dress please?

Have bought this dress for a couple of Christmas dos, but I'm beginning to think that black shoes/stockings may be a bit too hard. Do you think a sort of dull silver or grey would be better? Or something else? Would be very grateful for any advice (I'm 45 btw so can't do anything too young and funky!)

Love the dress. Love, love, love it. I agree about going for something other than black. What about these?

Tweet2tweet · 04/12/2012 20:12

Depends on look you're going for. I would personally go for something like this. If you would like a bit more height what about these

I don't have any shoe recommendations but just wanted to say I absolutely love the dress!Smile

or
purple

FEw others, misread that you didn't want black (though I personally think black patent would work best with a lovely dress like the one you have bought):

these or

these

Ooh thanks everyone - I love the idea of silver/metallic/snakeskin, but what colour stockings? Also love the suede kitten heels, which would probably be more practical to match other things.

BTW I bought the dress a while ago when it was reduced by £25. It's very forgiving and flattering if you're a bit lumpy Grin.

Again, depends on the look but what about black seam stockings? The dress combined with the kitten heels is quite siren/marilyn IMO so you could try the classy retro look.

Well done on such a great bargain!

I like Tweet's idea. Or if you don't want to do stockings, M&S have some tights. I would go for very sheer black tights.
