How can I make a little black (shift) dress look different this year?

I have a lovely black shift dress that I bought last year for a particular xmas party.
I don't want to buy anything new for the same party this year because I won't wear it more than very occasionally and it'll be a waste.

Last year I wore the dress with a black patent skinny belt and black patent Mary Jane style heels. What can I do to make it look a little different this year?
I am short and not skinny but not fat if that's relevant.

Statement collar?

Glittery belt, heels, stole (scarfie number)?

Black shifts are timeless

Also, will anyone notice that it is the same dress?

Bright tights, clashing colour patent belt (eg. fuchsia tights/turquoise belt), interesting pendent necklace or brooch.

Not sure anyone will notice unless I wear it the exact same way...with the same belt and shoes and then maybe they would. I don't remember what anyone else wore though.

Quite like the idea of colourful tights and a matching belt and bag. Not keen on my legs so might not be able to be very brave but something like burgundy? Or a different stole.

Last call for any more ideas for this...off shopping soon.

Still unsure about what to do with it.
