I have 100 quid to spend in Topshop - please help me!

So, as title says really! I've been given a gift voucher to the value of 100 quid and I am both excited and clueless...

Any Topshop afficionados out there? I've looked at the website but am utterly bamboozled by things such as feathery skirts and funny scarf print shirts.

I'm 5ft 1, size 12, big of nork and tummy-ish. I don't need office clothes as work in a very informal environment but also have a 2 yo to run around after. I was an apple before DD but I do seem to have acquired more shape although am still short-waisted...

I'm excited because I haven't had this sort of money to spend solely on myself for a very long time and clueless because I would normally buy sensible things like long-sleeved tops and thermals...I kind of want to go a bit bonkers and get something gorgeous to wear at Christmas but it must still be warm :D

Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

A faux fur jacket - luxurious yet practical?

here

or this one

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 03/12/2012 13:57

those jackets are gorgeous madammecholet, thank you - if only i had a 200 pound voucher!

definitely need clothes as opposed to outerwear and was thinking of some lovely glam knitwear and maybe some jeans or a skirt? I just have no idea if Topshop caters for my shape, I guess the answer is to go into a store rather than look online!

Yes go instore... Their jeans can be very different according to the style you choose.. ;)

browneyedpixie · 03/12/2012 14:00

How about some tops that you can dress up or down?
Perhaps a funky tee too.
A wool oversize cardi or jumper
Jeans! Jamie and Kristen are great as hold tum in
Ermmm

yes! that's what I'm thinking of, oversize jumpers and other tops, they're what I have the least of. And jeans...I have a couple of pairs of old battered Baxters from years ago but they just don't do it for me anymore - will have a look at the Jamie and Kristens..

Boots, I say - their footwear is very good, much better quality than the clothes.

I got some studded ankle boots for 85 quid - as kwality as 200 quid ones from elsewhere.

Corygal · 03/12/2012 14:39

You know what I'd do? Get primark supersoft skinnies wh are utter bliss and I wear as much as my Notify 200 ones and spend the Toppers 100 in one go on an investment piece. Middle-aged remark?

Well I might be over 40 but I ain't stupid, is my defence. I find the cheaper stuff in TS is often avail nearly the same but cheaper elsewhere - but the nice, premium stuff is excellent value.

A massive cardi or boots (see above obsession) or blinder dress or jacket will get you further in the long run.

Shoes and boots every time . Lovely fit and my boots are on 3rd winter ( been reheeled as I love them so much )

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 04/12/2012 15:21

i have ordered the Marlo furlined biker boots, an oversized animal print studded cardigan and some earrings Smile

i will be warm and (hopefully more) stylish!
