Help! I can't find anything that I like, anywhere...

I believe I may have finally, and sadly, hit a clothing rut Sad and I need some help!

After few days spent on the usual high street sites I don't seem to be able to find any clothes that I like at all. Not a thing. Not that it helps that I don't really have money to spend. But what is it with clothes at the moment? Are they all purposefully designed to only be wearable if you are 5'11 and skinny?

I'm 5'1, about a size 10 (8 for some tops) but surprisingly squidgy for my size, I've got a definite bit of a post-baby belly that I haven't shifted in a year as I eat too much cake. All those tops that are shorter at the front than the back look awful on me. Anything too baggy makes me look pregnant again, but anything too tight around my tummy makes me paranoid. And because I'm so short anything longer than my hips tends to look like I am wearing my big sisters clothes Grin.

I just want a few nice jumpers to go with skinny jeans, preferably v-neck. Or maybe a decent blouse that doesn't need tucking in. Or a Breton top. Or just anything which looks casual but fashionable, appropriate for being in my early 30s, and is easy to run around after a toddler in.

Has anyone found anything decent recently? I wouldn't mind being able to get 2-3 tops for about £50 that will see me through Christmas and get me down the pub looking ok. Any magic suggestions?

I feel your pain!

I've got birthday money from two months ago still burning a hole in my pocket & can't find anything I like to spend it on.
I'm the same height as you but a bit bigger, size 12. Just about given up hope.Sad

Bit pricier than you are looking at but Joules do a lovely duck print tunc

It's not good, is it, Aquelven! I feel like there is so much you can't wear well if you are short, it all just hangs too long on you.

Madamme, I really like that brown blouse! That would look good with skinnies.

I picked up some nice long vneck jumpers and cardies in Primark

Boden autumn Breton is very good.

I totally agree and just don't 'get' fashion at the moment - nothing I like either! Am similar size and shape to you OP so maybe that's why. H&M seems to have some ok basics - I got a few jumpers in there recently but because I'm not keen on the skinnies look it's been hard this season.
