What is BB cream and do I need it in my life?

I had never heard of it before about 2 days ago, and now I am seeing it everywhere. I am not the best with make up, have a very simple routine that is mostly concealer, some mascara and some lip gloss.

I could use a bit of radiance, is bb the answer?

If anyone more knowledgable than me could advise if it is worth trying or just a gimmick, I would be very grateful.

Thanks!

It's basically moisturiser with a bit of foundation in it.

Beaverfeaver · 02/12/2012 11:10

I loved it to begin with but just gone back to my normal foubdation and look much better for it

Panzee · 02/12/2012 15:44

I use it like a very light foundation. I moisturise too but do have very dry sensitive skin. Works for me for everyday, with powder. If I'm going out I use a normal foundation instead.

I don't like to wear much make up at all. However I bought The Body Shops BB cream. It is just like a tinted moisturiser, evens it all out a bit.

mirpuppet · 02/12/2012 15:57

What is teh difference between BB cream and tinted moisturiser?

Tis a waste of time. I read loads of good reviews about BB creams, bought two to try over the summer and haven't used either more than about 3 times. They're basically tinted moisturiser but make my skin feel weird.

PerryCombover · 02/12/2012 17:17

Nah
It's bobbins.
Make sure you get rid of all the evil dead skin and moisturise enough for the winter.

Fairylea · 02/12/2012 17:25

Nope. I didn't like them. Tried a few but I end up shining like a glow stick. I still endup wanting to put foundation and powder on as well even with the oil free ones !

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2012 17:29

I've been using the Garnier 'anti aging' one in light and must admit that I really like it. Now my skin is getting back to its deadly winter hue though, it's getting a bit too dark so I've gone back to Max Factor in the shade Not Quite Dead, or whatever it's called.

Butterfly1975 · 02/12/2012 21:43

Same as Remus really - I liked my Garnier BB cream over the summer but there aren't enough shades so it's too dark for my pale skin in the winter months. Will have to go back to the foundation - gah!

If all products generally work on you, BB creams will too.
If you have a hard time finding a good moisturizer/foundation/sunscreen, the odds are that BB cream (which basically bundles all of the above, and sometimes more) people will not get it right for you either.

MarchelineWhatNot · 03/12/2012 13:13

I have been using the Bobbi Brown BB cream for a couple of days now. It makes my skin look fab! A bit pale though, so I would suggest buying it in the store so you can choose the right shade.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I think I may try some if I see a bargain :)
