Does this go together? (party outfit)

Have to wait till it arrives to try it on but want to ask if you all think this outfit will work.

I have lost a lot of weight (just under 6 stone but still another couple to go) and have xmas party to go to. I want to wear something nice and pretty.

I have completely changed shape so struggle to know what will suit me. But only shops by me are one tiny new look, a small sainsburys with a selection of clothes for the over 50s, and a small store 21 (used to be qs) hence ordering online.

Also realised party is next week and I don't have much money.

Shapewise still some weight on my stomach/arse/upper arms. Legs good (thanks to cycling/walking) and huge bust.

Have ordered this dress plus black shrug and these plus have black tights already.

Do you think the dress will go with a black shrug/bolero cardigan? Am hoping it fits (bust is biggest problem) otherwise will have to go with whatever I can find locally.

Yes, I think it will look fine.

KatoPotatoHoHo · 01/12/2012 20:03

First off congrats and well done!!

I think the bolero will look lovely with that dress! Go kick up your heels

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/12/2012 20:05

How old are you and what size now?

I really don't think the shoes are great and am sure we can find better. The dress could look ok but its a bit 'babydoll' style and again think there will be better options out there.

Do you definitely want a dress? How about skinnies with a glam top and good heels?

aPirateInaPearTree · 01/12/2012 20:08

the shoes are too cheap looking. how tall are you? the dress is a bit short but hard to tell where it would come on you. lovely colour.

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/12/2012 20:10

Sorry I did mean to say - amazing well done on the weight loss!

TheArmadillo · 01/12/2012 20:25

Am 30. 5'5" Between a 14 and 16.

Definitely want a dress. Have found much more lovely shoes but have nothing to spend on them so not really any choice other than shoe zone (also all I have locally shoe wise).

TBH I probably woudln't buy that style of dress again, but I want it, just for once, to be impractical and shiny Blush

Amblin · 04/12/2012 18:42

are your legs good? will it hang off any stomach?

kilmuir · 04/12/2012 18:45

i am a similar size and have just bought a lovely purple ' grecian' style dress from bhs. I am in my 40's so your dress might have looked odd on me.
Have fun
