I have only recently started weraing jeans after years of refusing to. Anyway invested in a couple of pairs recently. The most expensive was £2o and the cheapest was £10. DP goes out and buys two pairs for over £200. Arn't jeans meant to be rough and not designerish at all or have I missed something.

Passionflower · 09/04/2006 22:29

I got 7's off ebay £50. I tried them on in a shop and made a note of the size Grin.

nutcracker · 09/04/2006 22:31

£50 on a pair of jeans?

i think paying £20 is taking the pisss

Clary · 09/04/2006 22:48

See now this is an issue for me.
I wear jeans when not at work so 3xdays a week. Have alwyas bought Gap, more from habit than anything, but am pausing now at £44 a pair.
Plus for some reason my trousers always go at the left knee (? don't ask why. Only with my "crawl around on the floor picking up bits of Brio/lego/playmobil one tho!) so that's really annoying when you've paid £44. Never mind £100!
So shall I go an try on £10 Asda ones? Or shall I spend lotsa dosh? I am a size 12 but even at my slimmest, do not have Piff's "boy hips" oh no.

wessexgirl · 09/04/2006 22:52

I still refuse to wear jeans. They are just boring. Remind me of school uniform.

Bozza · 09/04/2006 22:53

TBH I find that designer jeans don't fit me. Although I am a size 10 I am not a model shape. I must be curvier than I thought and also short legged. Tried on cheap end designer and all were too long, too tight on hips/thighs and too big on waist - that's Guess, Calvin Klein etc. Also Levi's. So ended up with a pair of Pilot ones for £23.

wessexgirl · 09/04/2006 22:53

Not that I wore jeans to school! I hasten to add. Just that everyone wears them; it is paying to look like every other bugger.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 09/04/2006 22:54

I got a really nice pair in Matalan for £10 the other week. And DH bought some from Tesco for me for mothers day- that I really like....thought they were quite expensive but they were actually only £3.50 (I know as I found the receipt when looking for something in the cupboard Blush)

themoon66 · 10/04/2006 09:12

Bozza - which cheap end designer ones were too long?? They sound exactly what I need with my 35 inside leg!

katyp · 10/04/2006 09:38

Clary, my jeans always wear out on the right knee! I'm wearing jeans a lot at the moment and finding they only last 6 months or so (the nice ones from the Gap sale) - of course the cheapo shapeless ones from elsewhere last for years...

Really can't justify spending more than £50 and that was when the only available pair with a short enough inside leg (under 30") were Levi. Couple of Per Una ones under £30 or Gap sale.

Bozza · 10/04/2006 20:30

tm66 - they were Guess and Calvin Klein in an outlet.

blueteddy · 10/04/2006 20:48

I wear jeans a lot & shop around to find ones that fit right.
I find French connection jeans fit nicely (although they are quite long, so often need to be worn with heels) & although they start of quite expensive, I try to pick them up in the sale. The last pair I bought from there were reduced from £70 - £17.99!
