for what occasion ?

Looks a bit 1970's pregnancy kaftan, sorry !

Whizzz · 07/04/2006 16:33

Nice shape but a bit too 'printy' for me personally. Like the colour scheme though

fishie · 07/04/2006 16:34

frumpy

threelittlebabies · 07/04/2006 16:41

Oh crap. Thought as much. Was panic buy for the 2- count 'em- weddings I have to attend this weekend, both evening receptions. Nothing much fits me BlushSad

nice colour but would look very frumpy if you are not on sylph life proportions... think there are nicer ones around like that..

expatinscotland · 07/04/2006 16:41

Hmmm. The print is a bit much for me. But I like the cut and style.

collision · 07/04/2006 16:42

Seen it instore and it is awful and frumpy!

Sorry

fishie · 07/04/2006 16:43

oh no, you didn't say you've already got it and not much time to replace it, now i feel awful! what accessories? can you get to shops before events?

MrsBadger · 07/04/2006 16:45

It's the sleeves, I promise. Get one with snugger sleeves and you will look gorge.

juliab had the same problem last week and got some good suggestions - thread is \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=160404&stamp=060331172218\here}

threelittlebabies · 07/04/2006 16:59

Arggh! No cannot get to shops. Don't actually want to go to either, which makes it worse. Am definitely not sylphlike. I lierally grabbed it at 8.58pm as Next was closing, had a friend with me who said it ws nice! Shock Oh bollocking shit, what am I going to do? Grin

The weddings are this weekend? How are you going to get delivery in time?

threelittlebabies · 07/04/2006 17:03

CD- I already have bought it! Somewhat misguidedly. First wedding is tonight!

OP posts:
threelittlebabies · 07/04/2006 17:09

Does anyone think it is nice? Clutching at straws now I know...

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 07/04/2006 17:16

wear it anyway - friend who was there when you bought it knows you better than we do!
accesorise with killer heels, updo and a couple of glasses of wine - you'll knock 'em dead

Skribble · 07/04/2006 17:24

How old are you? Will you be wearing it with heals? Have you tried it on? Has friend seen it on you and are they honest? I will probably look fab on some people. I have tried a few dresses on (nothing like this) and I just look old and frumpy but I don't wear heels which can make a big difference.

threelittlebabies · 07/04/2006 17:32

28, yes, yes, no. I'm really not sure now!

Skribble · 07/04/2006 17:34

Get pal round tell her its an emergency, tell her to bring entire contents of her wardrobe, then you can do the typical female thing and try everything on then go back to the dress.

TBH I think it would look quite good with heels, what size and shape are you if you don't mind answering?

poppadum · 07/04/2006 17:35

If you are only 28, you can probably get away with it. And it does look very trendy.

threelittlebabies · 07/04/2006 18:12

lol at typical female thing skribble! I am 5'2", curvy, usually big chested but as breastfeeding a 7mo they are humungous, also am carrying too much weight!! Just got friend round- she lives next door- and decided on another dress from next.

poppadum- only 28...bless you! Feel 108 atm Grin
