Mixing gold and silver jewellery - tips?

Does anybody have any tips on how to mix silver/white gold and yellow gold jewellery without it looking accidental/jumbled please? Also, is mismatched metals something that you notice/care about on other people? I've seen it work well with chunky costume jewellery (bangles etc) but I can't wear that as it reacts with my skin.

Most of my jewellery is very delicate, classic and understated so I'm really not sure whether the mixed metals look is incongruous. I have mostly white metal pieces and a few yellow gold pieces (some of which I deliberately chose because they have two-tone detailing, to make the contrast less jarring). My watch is fairly chunky and made of stainless steel with "gold" detailing on the face and outside of the bracelet, which I think helps a bit... I also have bead necklaces made of 2 tone amber, "turquoise" (i.e. dyed howlite), tiger's eye and black pearls in case that helps at all.

Thanks in advance!

I don't like mixed metal jewellery. I wear Silver and white gold.
Personally I don't like yellow gold at all.

I mix and match.....but cannot bring myself to mix and match earring and necklaces! Nearly all my earrings are silver, and I rarely wear necklaces so that sort of solves that problem!

I have bangles that are silver with gold detail, plain gold and plain silver. Rings are gold, but i do wear a big silver cuff ring more often than not, or if not that then a chunky silver amber ring.

I tend to wear necklaces and earrings in the same metal, but I have some jewellery that I wear all the time. These are platinum/white gold rings and a rose gold bracelet. I don't think it matters about the metals being different colours, but I think the style of the jewellery should all go together iyswim.

Georg Jenson, has rings which are different coloured metals and they look quite pretty imo.

I wear mixed -silver and gold BUT I wear two rings that are actually silver and gold so it doesn't look odd and my watch is silver and gold too. So if I wear anything else it blends in ok.

I also think it looks pretty - you can mix them but I'd go for a bigger proportion of silver/white gold to yellow gold. I have a lovely silver necklace with yellow gold accents and my wedding ring is mostly white gold but with a yellow gold setting for a diamond.
