what do you wear over your peplum dresses?

Im stuggling to wear any of mine as its too cold to not have another layer over arms. I find cardis and jackets look odd around the 'peplum' bit around the waist?

I'd suggest a cropped bolero type thing, or a fur cape-y/shawl thing, something that doesn't reach the flare of the peplum .
p.s. very technical language i know
