very typical American attire: in winter, a pair of 'sweatpants' w/a drawstring waist and a long-sleeved tshirt (usually emblazoned w/the logo of some place or company), in summer, shorts and a tee.

oliveoil · 06/04/2006 10:28

drawstring pants and an old t-shirt, only because at meal times I get covered.

We call them 'fun pants' in our house, dd1 and dd2 have scruffs to change into depending on what they are doing.

YES! I love the practical shows like that - Trinny & Susannah told us long ago how important a good fitting bra is. No 'back hamsters' here.

JoolsToo · 06/04/2006 10:30

GDG is pj girl - I go for sweatpants and loose top (not that I work Grin)

schneebly · 06/04/2006 10:30

I dont work but if I have been out I always put PJ's/trackies on when I come home because it feels nice and stops my outdoor clothes from getting covered in shit/chocolate etc. Not odd at all.

I go to work in jeans and a t-shirt, so there's not much more comfortable I'd want to put on!
I do change if I've worn a suit for a meeting or something, generally into the floppy drawstring yoga pants I wore for yoga about twice, and a top of some description, but sometimes just into jeans.

Not sure I'd ever off the clothes I wore for work (which go in the wash that night anyway) and put on something clean I'd have to wash at a later date...
and what happens if you have to dash to Tesco for emergency shopping/go for drive to soothe crying child/put bins out etc later in the evening? Do you go in your nearly-pjs? or get put your work clothes back on? or put on a whole new outfit?

Bozza · 06/04/2006 14:45

I have been known to drive crying child and put out bins in pjs. But would draw the line at Tescos. I normally get changed into jeans or denim skirt or similar and cas. top. If I am feeling sorry for myself - very tired or got a cold or something I will get straight into pjs.

milward · 06/04/2006 14:47

scoobytwo · 06/04/2006 16:43

FrayedKnot · 06/04/2006 17:12

Is this not what loungewear was invented for?

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 06/04/2006 17:15

I always put my PJ's on when I get back from work - and go to bed straight away too Grin Wink

compo · 06/04/2006 17:17

ooh yes, always chnge into comfy trousers, as does dh - he calls his 'sitting down trousers'!!

NomDePlume · 06/04/2006 17:19

We do the pj bottoms at 6pm thing too. Call 'em our 'cosies', "Where are you going ?", "Off to put my cosies on".

Norah · 06/04/2006 17:49

To be honest I put the kettle on !

But - I see you are talking clothes - I rarely change as my entire outfit will be going in the laundry basket that night and I am so mean that I don't want to add to my washing/ironing pile any more than I absolutely have to !

no, no, I gave up doing yoga in those trousers and wore leggingy things instead, becase they don't slide down and expose scaly calves when you're upside down.

So ner!

tigermoth · 07/04/2006 09:25

I have some black and some burgundy jersey flares (my fave primark purchases). I throw them on as soon as I get back from work, so often by 6.30. I often keep on my work top, if it's usually some sort of tshirt/cardigan combination. I always remove my bra. I do it without taking off the tops. I hate wearing a bra with comfy trousers - just doesn't seem right. I also wear a pair of birkie style slippers in grey felt.

I will go too the local shops in this outfit, but wear a coat or jacket to cover my top braless half.

FastasleepInABunnySuit · 07/04/2006 09:53

If I took my bra off when I got home the damn things would poke out of the bottom of my top!!!

FastasleepInABunnySuit · 07/04/2006 09:55

You not not wearing a bra (which I could do, I spose I'd just look droopy and they'd wing when I went up the stairs like a pair of rabbits in sacks..)

don't you find the rubbing of the top fabric on your delicate places a bit painful? Or do I just have really sensitive boobs?
