Trying to work out ideal weight?

I am 5'2 (and a 1/4!!) and when I saw the nurse she said my ideal weight was 8 stones 2 pounds.

Soooooo that means I have an awful lot of weight to lose! A scary amount to lose.

I don't know if she worked it out a certain way or if it was a figure just picked out of the air!

I don't really know what other people that are my height actually weigh! I see myself as looking huge but other people never believe how much I weigh.

1410 which seems really really high!

If I have a salad for lunch I can't eat that much. Never thought I would ever have an issue eating enough calories!!

Plaingirly... my tips for weight loss [ they helped me shed over 6 stone from a size 18 to a size 8 ]

  1. Only eat three times a day, don't snack

  1. no alcohol

  1. Calorie count and write down everything

  1. Cut out ALL white carbs and moderately eat good carbs.... so with one meal a day as opposed to all meals. So, for example, don't eat cereal for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and pasta for dinner. You'll have mainlined carbs all day.

This worked for me.

yep the white carb thing here too. if i have a slice of toast for breakfast, i don't have it again. If i have cereal for breakfast i don't have bread again that day.

scrambled eggs with a load of mushrooms and baked beans is a fave for a comfort eat.

ryvitas with hummus and cucumber-great snack.

i am a veggie but i know of a meat eater who substituted for quorn, and enjoyed it in spag, chilli etc...

tesco do the most gorgeous frozen fake meatballs, i have 4 of those with couscous, and a big pile of salad. olives and a little chutney. if i have a savoury craving.

total greek yoghurt, i get the 2% one its lovely with chopped dates and a smidge of maple syrup ooh and banana. I tried the 0% fat one and for the difference in cals just wasn't as satisfying. I normally hate yoghurt but this stuff is lovely.

water.

sunflower seeds on my salads.

1410 isn't really high. I'm 9.5 stone and it's given me just over 1200 calories, and I lose weight on that. You just have to take it slowly and be in it for the long haul, and you will lose weight, chipping away at it bit by bit. Your calorie allowance will go down as your weight goes down.
