Ash Jalouse Boots - Which colour?

itsbeenemotional · 22/11/2012 20:43

I have finally decided to take the plunge and order a pair of Ash Jalouse boots but am undecided whether to go for the safe option of black or buy them in the wood ash colour www.reddirect.co.uk/Ash-Jalouse-Ankle-Boots/lid/20023.

Has any one bought them in wood ash or seen them in RL? Are they more brown or more grey? I have enough brown boots and want these to go with black, grey and navy. Any advice greatly received.

PS it's my first post so apologies if link hasn't worked.

Definitely look grey to me. I have last years year version, they are great boots, really versatile. Think there is a red direct code about, of you weren't aware...

itsbeenemotional · 22/11/2012 20:59

Thanks Amber. I've been lusting after them for a long time but thought I was too old and fat to wear them but now think to hell with it as fed up with my knee highs.

Which would you go for balck or wood ash?

I prefer the Wood Ash myself - that taupey grey colour is really versatile.

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2012 21:04

I had the same dilemma when I bought mine. I got the grey because I have black Pistols, and actually black ankle boots are ten a penny, and grey is just as versatile!

Ladies you have persuaded me on the wood ash and can get 15% off with red direct code - result!!!. What is the sizing like? I am a 39 normally, should I go for a 5 or 6?

Taupey gray is very fashionable in Italy - great choice!

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2012 21:22

Big sizing - I'm usually a 39, but my Jalouse are a little big. Maybe size down?

itsbeenemotional · 22/11/2012 21:22

Thanks DonaAna. Bought these today www.mintvelvet.co.uk/black-double-zip-jeans/jeans/mint-v/fcp-product/1385 so hoping to wear with the boots. OK or not??? Have lost my fashion mojo of late.

codes here

I think the ones you like are on Style passport and ASOS

SorrelForbes · 22/11/2012 22:10

I have them in Woodash and they are definitely grey. They do come up quite large. I'm a 5 and could have probably got away with a 4 buy I like them roomy for comfort.

Oh Julia you lovely, lovely lady Smile. Flexing credit card.

30% off code on Style passport. Boots bought for £101. It said dark brown but they looked like the wood ash ones and only a size 38 available so fingers crossed.

Thanks so much.

That's great, I love a good discount code. I find it hard to pay full price for anything when I know there must be a code somewhere!

I hope you love them when they arrive.

itsbeenemotional · 27/11/2012 12:54

Well my Ash Jalouse boots have arrived and I bloody love them. Supposed to be working from home today but am prancing about house in new boots.

They are more dark brown than grey but have a greyish tone to them IYKWIM. Size 38 a bit smaller than I would normally go for but they are fine on and hopefully with being suede will stretch a bit. The next size up would have been too big, so if anyone is thinking of getting them maybe size down.

Thanks to all you ladies for persuading me to buy them and especially to JF for the 30% off code.

Hi guys - I'm new to this board! Just came across this thread, and I'm quite late in discovering these but I have fallen in love with the Ash Boots and unsure where to order from and what size... I know people say they're quite roomy. I'm normally a 6 however have very few pairs where I'm a 5/5.5 so not sure whether I should risk getting a size 5 first? Most places are sold out of the taupe colour so my second favourite is wood ash... Has anyone else got this and can confirm if it's more brown or dark grey? It's hard to spot this on the website, and non of the shops where I live stock them!

carlywurly · 01/09/2014 19:33

I've got taupe and wood ash. Love them both. Worth keeping an eye on the ash website as they have some pretty good sales. I nearly bought the metallic ones but gave myself a slap in time.. Grin
