Holy s...! I have a date on Saturday and have not been in a night out since the last milenium! What should I wear???

That's the question, have been doing smart casual and mostly meeting for coffees for years. Any ideas on what to wear with jeans at night (yeah, I know, some clothes) don't want to over do it but don't want to freeze to death either.

Drinks (i never go for drinks!) i have a few tops that could do but I think I'm going to freeze. (obviously, I'm getting comfortable in my old age)

I think what is letting me down is the coat, I need to find something nice (and not expensive)
