Really nice smelling rose toner-no alcohol- any suggestions?

That's it really. So far all the really nice smelling ones have had alcohol which jus exacerbates my dry on top layer more oily underneath skin. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried the Nuxe one? I would rather not spend a fortune but will entertain all ideas.

Rosewater from the chemist

pocketandsweet · 20/11/2012 17:20

Is that not generally full of glycerin as well?

I second rosewater. Don't think it's got glycerin in. Cheap as chips.

reindeerjumper · 20/11/2012 17:24

I don't know it's so cheap it's worth trying

notMarlene · 20/11/2012 17:27

Rosewater from chemists and international food shops isn't usually proper, pure rosewater at all. Often it's water with scent added or actual rosewater thats highly adulterated.

The real deal can be ordered on line, it's not as cheap but it's fab. Search Rose Hydrolate.

notMarlene · 20/11/2012 17:29

Sometimes called Rose Hydrosol too.

auldspinster · 20/11/2012 17:40

Boots botanics rose toning spritz is good.

Beaverfeaver · 20/11/2012 19:08

Ren do a really lovely one

fififolle · 20/11/2012 20:29

this is gorgeous

BeauNeidel · 20/11/2012 22:53

I buy rose water from my local continental market. It is pure rose water, food grade, so nothing else in it. It was also less than £2 for the bottle.

hellymelly · 20/11/2012 22:55

Dr Hauschka. Sprays on and is lovely for sensitive skin.

EllenParsons · 21/11/2012 00:00

Lancôme tonique douceur is alcohol free and smells nice and rosy IMO

caramelwaffle · 21/11/2012 00:02

Second Dr Hauschka

BanoffeeSplitz · 21/11/2012 00:10

Used to use English Provender Company rosewater (food grade).
Weleda Wild Rose is probably good - their rose moisturisers are great - but it's low-alcohol not no-alcohol.

VestaCurry · 21/11/2012 00:38

There's an organic one from Elixirs of Life - excellent stuff and about £8 for 100ml. All of their products are lovely.

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 21/11/2012 11:45

I use the rose and lavender water from Lush - very cheap and def no glycerin in it. I'm allergic to most things and this is fine for me (they also do a small bottle which is

Rattitude · 21/11/2012 11:48

I like the white rose toner from Pure Nuff Stuff.

It smells lovely, is organic and only £6.50 for 100ml.

caramelwaffle · 21/11/2012 20:18

Actually the one I have is Dr Organics (from Holland and Barrett)

HeftyHeifer · 22/11/2012 09:00

The Rose Hydrosol from Norfolk Essential Oils (Online only I think) is gorgeous, just rose water, nothing added.

HipHopOpotomus · 22/11/2012 09:04

another vote for rosewater.

If you have oily/spotty skin add in some witch hazel, also from chemist (not sure if this has alcohol in though). Start with about 20% witch hazel and take it from there.
