Can anyone recommend a foundation that won't make me look ancient?!

Please can anyone recommend a foundation for pale 40 year old skin, that won't make me look about 50? All the ones I've tried recently seem to really highlight my pores and eye wrinkles. Skin on the dryish side.

During the day I use mineral foundation which is fine, but for night I prefer a more "made up" look.

Oh yes, and while I'm here, could anyone also recommend a good concealer for red bits?

Thanks!

Revlon photoready
No & Lift & Luminate
Current favourite is Liz Earle's new foundation.
All have decent pale shades.

I have same skin type and use a L'Oreal primer at night which makes a huge difference to the appearance of pores.

Cargo Jet Lag concealer is great but is no longer available in Boots.

I'm just like you (age and skin type) and have just gotten Clarins Skin Illusion foundation. Really lovely. Doesn't go mask-y, just glides on.

Concealor = Bare Minerals Bisque, it's fantastic.

Maybe the problem is in the application. I apply foundation with a stippling brush and you get a lovely natural finish.

I am 47 and a bit of a foundation whore....having tried looooooads, you know what I have at the moment? Which is fab-u-lous? And cost me £5 in a buy-2-for-£10 thingy....

Maybelline eraser.

It is amazing. A lovely consistency, like a thickish fluid but feels so lovely when it goes on.

I spit at my £35 Dior half-finished bottle every time I pass it. Never again!

(I am blonde and wraithlike in the pale stakes too)

Ditch foundation and go for tinted moisturiser, such as Laura Mercier.

I have just started using this Bare Minerals Neutralising Primer and am really impressed with it. It covers redness and for day time wear is enough for me, without foundation. It may be sufficient for a more made up look to just use this under your mineral foundation.
I also second the suggestion of the Bare Minerals Bisque concealer as that is also excellent.

I've just said on another thread, I'm 54 and loving the youthful glow that the Liz Earle foundation is giving me. Will never change again, now.

I find Armani Face Fabric gives a lovely finish.
