Merrell captive strap boots - any opinions? Or alternatives I can look at?

Hi

I'm looking to invest in a new pair of winter boots - mostly to wear with jeans and on rare occasions a skirt. I'll be wearing them out and about in the park and walking locally with my young children.

I've seen the merrell captive boots which look really nice. Anyone have them? Or can you suggest similar options?
