what goes with chocolate and plum?

I have foolishly bought a pair of dark chocolate linen trousers and a plum skirt, and now find that they don't go with anything in my wardrobe. I don't wear white or beige ( can't keep them clean). Are there any other colours that go with chocolate and plum? Black would go with the plum skirt, I suppose?

olive green would go with both i think...maybe

Tutter · 04/04/2006 16:08

assume you're not wearing them together?!

turquoise/pale blue is good with chocolate brown

not really a plum person, but i suppose pale grey or pink would go? wouldn't put black with the plum - the plum would be too dark to give enough of a contrast imo.

Tutter · 04/04/2006 16:10

and beige would go with the chocolate brown trews, more 'sensible' than pale blue - depends what you're like about wearing colours i suppose

dinosaure · 04/04/2006 16:10

Maybe a cream linen jacket?

MrsBadger · 04/04/2006 16:11

With the trousers you could put tan, burnt orange, red, coral, olive green, mustard/golden yellow or teal. I have several brown trousers!

I'm less good on plum - yes to olive green, prob black

Kelly1978 · 04/04/2006 16:12

orange, dusky pink, beige, turquoise with chocolate. I wear a lot of chocolate brown.
green with plum, not sure what else.

thewasherwomen · 04/04/2006 16:13

burnt orange defo with the choclate brown, you can get some lovely accessories

JackieNo · 04/04/2006 16:17

Possibly the right dusky pink with the plum. Nothing too peach coloured, though.

Pudding!!

Sorry, you can tell what's on my mind!

I have a plum wrap top that I wear with slate greys :)

And chocolate hmm I really only tend to wear chocolate with beige/camel although again slate grey would probably be quite nice!!

I'm not dull honest.

FastasleepInABunnySuit · 04/04/2006 16:42

Oooh I so want something in burnt orange!

Kelly1978 · 04/04/2006 16:57

try zara. I got tops in turquoise and orange there.

MrsBadger · 04/04/2006 17:05

Peacocks currently heaving with brown/tan/orange colour scheme - also a rather cool green shirt with slightly hawaiian brown flowers that'd look ace with the brown trousers.
In fact I'm going back tomorrow to get it to wear with mine!

Nbg · 04/04/2006 17:09

I have a gorgeous plum skirt, well I've had it for 4 years and worn it once.
It had a very fine sequin detail at the top but with different colours. In the summer I bought a turqouise coloured top and that went really well with it I thought.

CHICagoMUM · 04/04/2006 17:12

Oh bum, din't notice this was a style thread... have a punnet of rather soft plums in the fridge and thought this may be a chance to finda good recipe to use them up Blush .

zippitippitoes · 04/04/2006 17:17

poppadum · 04/04/2006 19:05

Ooh, thanks everyone. would never have thought of trying the turquoise with chocolate, but it does look good. will try orange.
