Do Spray Tans ALWAYS make you look orange?

Spray tans seem to be totally de rigeur in my new neck of the woods, so much so we even have an establishment called "Bronzin'" nestled between the vet and the chippy in our local shopping parade.

Most of the clientele are a horrifying shade of orange. Beyond being tangoed.

I am useless at putting fake tan on myself OTOH I would like not to be lily whiete this summer.

Is there a particular spray tan that is more subtle or is it the depth / intensity that it is sprayed on?

Good question. I don't know but does anyone on here know if the new instant dry spray one from Ambre Solaire(i think) is any good?

Hi. I have only recently started using fake tan. Spray tan, I have been told, goes everywhere in the bathroom when you spray. So I opted for mousse instead. It's so easy to apply. I bought the St Tropez one and it is great. It goes on dark and makes you look as though you've come from the beach. But the No.7 one from Boots (which I tried first) gives a more discreet tanned effect. Also, the No. 7 one tans gradually.

frayedknot, i sometimes treat myself to a spray tan when i have a night out or whatever, im useless at doing it myself so i go to the beauty salon, they use 'Fantasy Tan' and its a brilliant natural colour. they have the option to go back for free the next day and get bits redone like face, legs or whatever if you want it deeper (my legs usually need another blast)

i would totally recommend it. ive also had a st tropez one that was just as good. i dont wear the paper knickers, i just wear an old black pair and you can keep your bra on if you are shy (wear an old one!)

my bf does it herself and she uses Lo'real spray (she gets it in boots) and it looks natural (she can sometimes get carried away though)

I had a fantasy tan done last year, it was best about 2 days after I had it done.
I started a thread yesterday asking for best tan as want a light natural one.
Have ben recommended to get a clarins one...

nailpolish · 06/04/2006 17:49

yes ive heard clarins is good

but i like st tropez spray, i spray it on my hands and then rub it in, i find its better than spraying directly on your legs

(as i am pretty useless at doing it myself)

I am now totally addicted to the St Tropez mousse self-tan! (My Mum bought me a 240 ml tube as a gift a few weeks ago) I put it on every day now to see how dark I can get! DH is not amused cause he hates the smell. Well, I don't so I keep doing it anyway!

my dp always complains of the smells as well the sancutary one from boots is great avaliable in a lotiuon or mousse, i have never had a streak with the lotion, it 9.99 for a large size and lasts ages
