Denim Skirt?

I have lost a huge amount of weight, and shopping is a joy now, but I don't know what is in fashion/style. I bought some boots, which look great with skinny jeans, and black tights but I feel a denim skirt would also be a good option. Couldn't see anything today.

Are they now 'out'?

Actually an 'A' line denim skirt with an inverted front pleat is not 'out'. Also, look out for kilt styles in dark denim or chambray. Like most classics, it is not what you wear, but how you wear it that counts.

I would wear a denim skirt with unusual shades such as Ochre, Mustard, Plum or Burgundy, Forest Green and Charcoal Grey. Look for cute blouses or shirts in prints, sweaters with unusual prints (even animal prints), blouses worn under sweaters with collars out- think off beat Preppy. Keep the skirt to a decent length; no Brittany Spears schoolgirl mini kilts. Wear woolly or thick tights especially in colours other than black and for shoes try Brogues, Monkstraps, Belle de Jour style pumps, mid heels. Boots look good- Frye style or the Heeled ankle boots.

good idea could see quirky blouses would look good. what are belle de jour style pumps??

here is a link.
If you click onto 'look 7' of the slide show, the pumps are shown. They got their name from Catherine Deneuve wearing them in the eponymous film and were designed by Roger Vivier.

I love the boden denim skirt but sent it back as whatever I tried on with it it looked frumpy on me. I totally agree it's in the styling as other people seem to look great in them. I think for me it's because I have black boots and somehow brown just look so much better IMO.

I was thinking of a denim skirt today, I'm 5ft 4, have decently lost half a stone, I'm about 8st 10lbs size 8 now but I have chunky thighs compared to the rest of me. Don't even own any skinny jeans I'm that untrendy. But I keep looking at erm heavier people than me in skinny jeans and thinking they look ok.

Home, don't get me started on grey boots. I tried and failed to find any suitable so stuck to black. Would lurve grey.
