Winter dry skin - best moisturiser?

I think I need something more heavy duty than my current moisturisers, both for day and night. My skin is usually normal/combination but currently looking very dry.

Budget: up to about £50.

Suggestions please!

I have very dry skin and I use Astral Cream (around £3 I think). It is v heavy but perfect for me in the winter !

i have extremely dry skin and moisturiser is not enough, so now I use a skin oil first, wait a few minutes (I have breakfast) and then apply moisturiser. This is my favourite ever, as good as Clarins at least,www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=2570&prodid=2848

Rosehip oil is also great.

Plain dirt cheap Astral here too, it seems to be the only thing working at the minute for me- that and washing in aqueous cream then using that to moisturise in the morning and Astral at night.

Burts Bees is v good as well though.
