Would these boots be ok with this dress?

Hello. I am looking for advice...I have been at home with children for 3 yrs, not much money, hardly ever buy any clothes, a stone heavier than pre children and not very happy with how I look. I have a big family day time party coming up, there will be a photographer and I want to look and feel halfway decent.

I have bought a dress that I can feed my 10 month old son in, it arrived this morning and fits pretty well though. Look lumpy in it. Here it is

My question is what to wear on my feet? It is a day time family thing so don't want anything too dressy or sexy if you know what I mean. Was thinking maybe these

I have great shapely legs (about only thing I like about my body!) but have never really worn ankle length boots before.

I livein rural Norfolk with 2 small children so cannot get to shops, everything has to be purchased online.

Thanks very much for any advice.

With black tights, I think that'd look great. Ankle boots are very in this season, although I still can't quite come to terms with them! That dress is lovely. Enjoy!

I really like the dress. Are you tall? You'd want quite a gap between dress and boots, iykwim, to show off your legs! I'd probably go for shoes, unless the dress is quite short on you.

FromEsme · 17/11/2012 16:12

They'd look nice together. I really love the boots.

I've tried those boots on in the shop. Very comfy and quite neat and elegant as far as ankle boots can be, so yes love both the boots and the dress.

by the way, some shape wear or control top toghts might help you feel less lumpy. M&s good for control tights.

A vest worn underneath would help smooth the bumps, if you are tall I think the boots would work well, if you are short and the dress falls on or below the knee, I might try knee boots with them as well, to see which looks right.

I love that dress, I would wear these with it. I do have these boots and I love them.

Thank you all very much. MrsMelon I like your boots, they look lovely and soft. As for control underwear and tights...just perusing Spanx on eBay as we speak. Thanks all for your feedback, think I will get the boots and see how it all works together.
