Can't decide whether to have it done.

Can't help but think I'm paying for a grown out colour.....

Or is it nice?

I like it.

I how long is your hair?

Im debating on having this or highlights.

BeauNeidel · 16/11/2012 21:48

I want to have a go, and tbh I wanted it 15 years ago when I was still at school! It was a look I liked in a hair magazine, sort of a grown out sun bleached look.

Sadly my mum wouldn't pay for it then!

(Also there are home kits for it now)

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 16/11/2012 21:59

Not brave enough for a home kit.

Hair is virgin brown, about two-three inches below my shoulders.

Really don't know......

It's fashion, but there's nothing wrong with that.
Personally, if I wasn't quite experienced with home dyeing it's not something I'd try myself.
Go on, have it done. If you don't like it you can dye it out.

Its a lovely look imo. Its one of the fashions anyone can try. Its very easy to do at home. You don't need a special kit. Just don't try going too much lighter or darker until you're confident you like the look. The beauty of this technique is that you don't need a steady hand. My way of doing it is quite easy. Brush your hair out to get rid of knots. Tie it into a ponytail and then put in another elastic (no metal) bobble upto the bit where you want the colour to begin. Grab hand fulls of the dye and spread it on. Try not to put too much near the bobble. This makes a fading effect.

Hmmmm-that's a good tip.

I've just been looking in the mirror and my hairs a good 6 inches below my shoulders. I don't know when it got that long....

My hair is dark so wouldnt really want to try lightening it at home myself.

My local (v good) hairdresser charges £40 for ombre, cut and finish.

DD (13) and I (51) saw the Ombre ad last night and simultaneously went 'ew' and agreed it looked weird.

If you can see a bandwagon you've missedit.
