Rigby & Peller only for the well-endowed and wealthy?

I have tiny boobs and a high street budget. But I want to believe that paying a bit more and going somewhere with a good reputation like R&P will pay off with good bras that actually fit and give me a good shape.

Anyone small of breast been there and how was it?

I haven't been although sorrelforbes is a regular and I think there is an ex fitter on here too. John Lewis are pretty good for fitting smaller busts

I've been!! To be fair though, I'm large of boob so my experience may not be relevant. However, I've loved my trips there. I'm usually in for at least an hour! They have a lovely range and a good stock of sizes. Well worth a visit.

I am well endowed but not wealthy (especially after buying a huge bra at £70).

I am not wealthy or well endowed. I buy four bras a year from R&P. Two black, two flesh coloured. I could probably get away with buying less frequently if I hNdwashed them as suggested, but I cant be arsed and machine wash them so they only keep their shape about a year. They are marvellous! They measured me by eye and I wLked in a saggy and sad 34B and came out a pert 32E (their sizing is weird...my boobs are not big). Took half a stone off my, too.

Ah, but a 32e isn't big really. It only means a 6 inch difference between your under bust and across bust measurements.

Their sizing is the same as for other brands they are just better at fitting than the high street shops.

I went with small boobed friend and when she left she had an amazing silhouette! I have know her for nearly 20 years Never seen her boobs look so pert and big!!!

Yep, I am only a 32D and 80% of my wardrobe is high street but I buy my bras there. They seem to improve my posture and my silhouette. Yes, their bras ARE expensive, but I would sooner own just 3 or 4 amazing bras that cost 80 quid each, then a whole drawful of crap from M&S that doesn't fit, gives me 4 boobs, monoboob, back fat, the wire pokes out of etc.

I've been, and am a 36b - and looked much better as they fit a bra to you.
Now I go to an independant shop where the lady does the same thing

I went in an A cup (AA in some stores) and came out a B cup! I was so chuffed! They have a good selection for small boobies. I got my wedding lingerie there, and some more normal t-shirt bras. I am definitely going back as my body has now changed due to pregnancy and I wouldn't trust anywhere else to measure me.

I have been so demoralised by department store bra fitters making me feel like a freak because no bra exists that is small enough. I usually go home in tears after a day bra shopping. My two remaining bras are in a shameful state so it can't be put off any longer. Wish me luck!

Not necessarily - I am 32C (although I look more like a B), and buy only 1 bra there every 2 years or so - and it is the main bra I wear. I just think it is worth the investment. The fantastic thing about them is that their fitters are so well trained. They ask you to take off your bra, and size you up by eye. They ensure that the bra suits your purpose (eg everyday wear, sexy wear, type of strap arrangement etc), suits your rib cage, suits your actual breast shape (such as full at the bottom as well as flat and saggy at the top). They understand that it is not just the size that is important, but the style of the bra as well (eg maybe a balcony bra will be what you need, or maybe a fuller top cup would fit your breast better).
If you go on a Saturday, bring a book and be prepared to wait.

Also, there is no obligation to buy! They have always found something to suit me, but if you aren't happy, or feel you can't afford it at the moment, they are happy to write down the make and size for you. Enjoy!

Ooh this is interesting, just out of interest what kind of price range are we talking for R&P?

I've been several times, and I will go against the grain here and say that ~I thought they were pretty rubbish. When I was pregnant they didn't have a single bra to fit me (I needed non-wired obv) and only on a second trip did they find one BEIGE bra that wasn't ideal (bit big round the back) but was comfortable. I went years before that, when I was really young, about 22, and they again didn't have a single bra to fit ( To be fair this was before the days of 28 and 30 back bras, and I had 25" ribs), they palmed me off with one that I had to take in at the back (a 32") And I felt I had to buy it as the assistant insisted it fitted and seemed to really not want to bother with me. I bought a bikini there while pregnant too, that was fine, but each time I've been in, the shop has been really busy, and I feel if they can't find something for you quickly they get irritated and just want you to leave. I have had far better service in Fenwicks, Bravissimo, and John Lewis tbh.

I usually go there at least once a year and buy a couple of bras.

The first time I went in I was a 28C - they took a 30 bra and altered it for me.

As the years have gone on I have progressed to a 30DD and the bras they fit are always the most comfortable.

Well I went in having worn 36AA or 34A my whole adult life, and came out in a 32C with much better shape and more comfortable!
(and a bit poorer but I suspect it's worth it)
