Night cream recommendations for 40 year + skin

I've just run out of night cream and wondered what good creams there are around at the moment. I was using Elemis Marine but fancy a change. Can anyone recommend something for just turned 40 skin? I am happy to spend if necessary. Thanks!

Followed by Elemis Pro Collagen marine cream... however.. you want a change from this? My second recommendation is Decleor HydraFloral.

Use these two in conjunction with each other and they do the job. I am 41 in a few weeks time and have no lines

Or cheaper Revitalift Laser Renew, on offer in Boots at the moment. Or Olay Three Point cream. I tend to alternate between them depending what's on offer.

Body Shop Aloe night cream - the best I have ever used and I have worked my way through most of the expensive stuff.

Who stocks REN shine? Space NK?
Also like the idea of Origins as use their Perfect World skin guardian which feels amazing..... Which of the two on the link do you use nigella?

I use the REN frankinsence night cream at the mo, it is not too heavy just right for me

Origins is packed full of chemicals and silicone, which has an instant smoothing effect, which, however, is just a thin layer of silicone!

Ren is silicone free. If you want to avoid silcone, look out for dimethicone or cyclomethione on labels

It is nice stuff, I like the way origins products smell, but not as "natural" as they would have you believe.

Silicone is fairly harmless, it just lays on the skin. The thing is though, it makes you think "OHHH, this cream has made my skin so smooth!" when really, you have just put a bit of silicone over your skin (which IS smooth! that is why primers are primarily made of silicone)

the brighter by nature cream has three kinds silicone as ingredients, highlighted them here:

I got these ingredients from a different website, as Origins don't list their ingredients online. You can also see that they ALSO use lots of lovely natural oils, essential oils etc. So not all bad!

Silicone aside, I'm hoping the Origins Youthtopia cream has other stuff in it that's actually good for the skin because i recently shelled out over £40 on a pot!

I must say, I haven't noticed it makes my skin feel especially smooth. It just feels nourishing. So perhaps the Youthtopia cream does not contain as much silicone as the Brighter by Nature?

Shopafrolic I have the first one, NOT the extra rich one. Lady in shop told me the extra rich would be too much for my skin (which is 48 years old and combination).

I have tried the Clarins Extra Firming that Aquelven mentions - got a tester. I really liked it although I don't know whether it was because the smell appealed to me. I think i might buy a full size one when I've finished my evil silicone filled Origins youthtopia.

I have been using clinique repairwear. I'm a fan of clinique anyway as they suit my sensitive skin. I find they give samples when asked kindly!

Or a huge bag of them when they think you are a secret shopper, even when i said i wasn't!

I get mine from John lewis.

I think it's the best out there. My skin is 'normal' I suppose but I have noticed it has been a little drier recently, hence the adding in of a serum. This doesn't make me greasy or spotty and I really recommend it.

You need eye cream too y'know!

I'm really liking the Clarins super restorative one in the red packaging at the moment. It did make my skin feel lovely and smooth so I'm off to look at the ingredient s as I'm suspicious now!
