How do you wave/curl hair with GHD's easily ???

Can you help me please - I only currently use my GHD's for straightening my mid length hair but thought I'd try something else - trouble is I'm a tad cack handed & I can't get it to work ................. any foolproof tips appreciated.

It's a bit like curling ribbon with scissors...there's loads of videos in YouTube showing you how to do it.
