seraphine maternity clothes - hand wash only??

I have seen lots of nice items on seraphine but the ones I like all say hand wash only. This sounds like a pain in the ass to me.

Has anyone just put them in the machine and what was the result?

Does hand washing really get things clean? - thinking of sweaty pits etc!

Can I take them to a dry cleaners to get cleaned if i can't machine wash.

example of the kind of thing I am looking at:

Yes handwashing gets things clean but it sounds like a poorly thought through business plan to me for day to day maternity clothes.

Hand wash only is code for "stick it on the gentlest cycle in your washing machine"

I have a seraphine handwash top - it gets washed at 30 with everything else and is fine. Was an eBay bargain so was happy to take the risk!

It is a daft idea loony especially as I don't want to buy loads of maternity clothes so will need to wear the ones I get a lot.

I hope that's true trills. Will check my machine and see what cycles it has.

Maybe I will buy one and try it in the machine before splashing out. It's just that they have some really nice things which will suit me for work and weekends and I haven't seen much else around - typical!

I had that knitted dress when I was pregnant, it was fine washed on a handwash cycle in the machine (30 with a short spin). Their maternity stuff is definitely the nicest I found and all washed well

  • though I did ruin a gorgeous cardi from there by putting it in a 40 wash while in a delirious sleep deprived new mummy moment.
