what to wear with navy dress?

I have bought two navy dresses, one very dressy for christmas pasty and a shift typre dress with flowers on it for just general going out, what do I wear with them?
I am wearing shift dress tomorrow and have bruises all on my legs so can I wear tights, if I can is black ok? also what colour shoes, should I get navy ones or is a brighter colour better? I have coral and teal shoes would these work?

Black tights would look good. Sheer for going out at night. Bright shoes would work, coral can look good with navy but depends whether the black tights would go. Try them on together. Dark - mid grey tights look great with navy and then you could wear black heels. What colour are the flowers on the other dress?

All colours, it has yellows, oranges, coral and shades of teal...it is nice even if my description is rubbish.
