I have a hankering for a perfect dressing gown. it has to be:

Roasty warm
Long
Hooded
Soft and thick but not fleece
Silky smooth but absorbent like towelling

and have huge pockets.

I don't want no onesie, do not even go there Grin

Can anyone recommend anything?

The White Company - hooded and fab.

Arithmeticulous · 01/11/2012 11:49

Which one? Velour as a concept gives me the heebeegeebees. I'd have to go and stroke it.

No, the white towelling one. Is towelling acceptable?

LynetteScavo · 01/11/2012 14:11

How did you put the C after Dressing Gown. Do you have a special key? Hmm

zillyzilly · 01/11/2012 14:12

Yes, and how do you put TM after summat?

headfairy · 01/11/2012 14:12

I have a White Company towelling one. They are indeed very soft and lucious.

zillyzilly · 01/11/2012 14:13

And really warm.

Fifi782005 · 01/11/2012 14:48

Pip studio do a lovely towelling ones with velour on the outside , genourous sizing with hood and large pockets

Arithmeticulous · 01/11/2012 14:51

I did that on my phone. I have no idea how to do it on the pc!

Are the towelling ones very towelly? I don't want a towelly one. I want luxury , darling.

I think I want a house coat with a hood, and some style.

I will add the white company too. My best friend got me one for my baby shower before I had dd, I love it. And so does DP, he's quite probe to nicking it. It's like really thick fluffy cotton.

MsArseBiscuit · 01/11/2012 14:54

If you're on an iPad ( and please bear in mind that I've just found this out now ) you go to Settings-General-Keyboard and add the ' emoji' keyboard. ©?🈚🚭💠

MsArseBiscuit · 01/11/2012 14:55

And obviously some of it doesn't work - pah

headfairy · 01/11/2012 16:54

arith it's not really towelly, the fibres are quite densly packed, so it feels more luxurious than your average dressing gown. And if you use the code OCD20 at the check out you get 20% and free delivery!

Arithmeticulous · 01/11/2012 21:35

That I just saw, so is it this or this?

The Pip ones do look nice. Anyone got one?

OP posts:
headfairy · 01/11/2012 21:39

Mine is the first one you linked to... although it doesn't look so pristine any more

Maraki · 01/11/2012 21:44

Long Tall Sally robes fit your description perfectly (provided you are 5'8 and above).

buttercrumble · 01/11/2012 21:47

Emma Bridgewater, i love my pink heart dressing gown.........

Arithmeticulous · 01/11/2012 21:48

No, I'm knocking 5'3" - I just want to be able to wrap it around my legs on the sofa Grin

Those Pip ones...what is the point of photographing the model lying down so you can't see the dressing gown properly !?!

Anyway can I jump on the thread....

I don't need a hood, and I don't think I do very well with white dressing gowns.

I don't think I want to spend 70 quid.

Any recommendations?

MacyGracy · 01/11/2012 22:07

headfairy that is a fab discountm I've only ever seen up to 15% before at White company. What size do you have if it is unisex should average women go for the small rather than medium?

Sorry for the hijack!

Arithmeticulous · 01/11/2012 22:10

The hooded hypercotton WC one that's £75 becomes £60 with that code - I'm wondering whether I really need a hood or could I just wear a hat and I'm chosing between grey and navy.

The robe sizing is here
