Stylish present for a 14 year old girl

I need to buy a present for my niece who loves pretty things. I know exactly what teenage boys would like but I think I need expert input for this one!

I would never have thought of a crystal pen, sounds fab! The Kit Heath jewellery is lovely but I wouldn't have it in time, will bookmark for future purchasing.

Accessorize is a good idea, I also thought of Topshop vouchers but I would like to give her an actual gift IYSWIM

He mum is very practical, so I'd love to get her something frivolous!

I was thinking of a make-up set. What brands do your dds like?

My dd just turned 14. She had a watch (arrived v quickly via Amazon). She likes perfume, bath things, Lush. I also got her a picture for her room. She quite arty and likes pop art; Ikea had a really big pop art style picture which was great.

Makeup: well all sorts really but esp pallettes of colours. She loves scarves, so a lovely floaty one from somewhere like Accessorize would be good. Or anything from there really Or a bag (satchel or messenger style seems favourite).

Oh and a Onesie! No1 Must have item of clothing for teen girls atm New Look do nice ones. Both my dd's have one.

I wouldn't do makeup- if she's into it by 14 she'll probably have her own ideas. But if you do, Benefit is popular, if expensive (!). The eye make up boxes are lovely, and the packaging is great too

Would you go for perfume Dexter? I think it's such a personal thing, I hate the smell of 90% of perfumes. Going by packaging alone I would probably get her MJ Daisy. What perfumes to teenagers like? My first was Anais Anais!

I only have 30 mins of shopping time tomorrow to get something, dratted half-term and constant playdates.

I'd get her a voucher for a beauty salon - DD who is 12 has had a few of these and says it is the best present she has ever had - had her nails and toenails done and felt very glam and grown up.

I'd give her a small gift, and the rest as cash.

DD is 14 and would much prefer to choose her own clothes (and would scoff at a onesie).

My dd loves getting perfume. She like Chance eau tendre at the moment but only ever gets it as a present as it is £££. She has had MJ Daisy before and even a Justin Bieber perfume given as a bit of a piss take but was surprisingly nice!

I have given before a booked Bobby Brown/mac make-up lesson with voucher( in House of Fraser or somewhere like that) they tailor the lesson for teens quite good to stop them slapping it on thickly! or Bobby Brown does a teen make up book that I've given with a voucher.

I like Benefit make-up, it can be quite expensive though and if she's not that interested in make-up usually I would go for a cheaper brand where you would get more for your money. Soap and Glory have some make up sets (and you could get a couple, with a free one with the 3 for 2 deal now at boots)
I think make-up/perfume can be tricky unless you know what they use or would like.
