NW20 skintone - so if this is the main factor what season am I?

I have chestnut brown hair, blue/green eyes and neutral leaning cool skin.

I don't seem to suit black any more. Colours that look bad include pastels,beige, camel, marl grey, mustard, orange and any pink.

I just can't seem to figure it out yet find it a breeze working out others. Very quiz leads me to a different answer and none of them seem to fit. I must be very neutral.

Any ideas?

No idea but watching with great interest as I'm identical colouring and trying to figure out the same thing!

Summer I'd bet. Me too, neutral cool pale skin (NC10-15).
I'm not one of those pastels summers.
I wear denim blues, smoky blues, navy, coral, bright red, bluish greens and emerald green.

Summers don't go for the brightest shade but for a slightly muted midtone shade.

Camel and marl gray and light pink and baby pastels look awful on me. I can wear camel (my hair color) if I avcessorize it with a smoky blue or coral scarf.

The color analysis I went to analyzed my skintone, eye color and hair color; based on this I'm Light Summer (btw Spring and Summer). You might be somewhere between Summer and Autumn. Soft Summer? Light Autumn?

Perhaps worth seeing a color analyst? I could never fit myself neatly into a season but feel very good in my colors.

Sorry meant NW10-15 - I need a pink-undertone foundation, yellow is no good.

I'm in the NC range, NC20 I think. Cream/beige/champagne kind of colours don't suit me one bit. It is a shame because lots of nice clothes are cream rather than white, which does suit me. Blues don't do a lot for me either. I'd love to know what season I am and what kind of reds suit me. I've also found that you can wear any colour on your bottom half.

Colour analysis in real life really is the only way to know for sure - everything else is only going to be a good guess. FWIW, my skin on the surface looks very pale and interesting, a fraction more cool than warm, but as soon as I am draped it is obvious I am warm - cool colours make me look like a corpse.

And also I wear the same foundation colour as my (Spring) sister and one of my (Summer) clients. I am an Autumn. It doesn't necessarily correlate to a particular season.

I've always struggled with the seasonal colours thing. When I was at school they had a woman in to see the upper sixth about colours (don't ask) and she was awful, just awful. Good on explaining cool and warm colours, fair play to her, but she looked terrible and her recommendations were terrible. Not mumsy, more M&S unstylish great granny classic collection. We were all 17.
I was told I was an autumn, needed lots of warm tones in everything and should wear a lot of moss green. I'm NC15 skin (thinking mac foundation, yes?) with auburn hair and grey-blue eyes. Is that something you would agree with still? I find charcoal, indigo, white, navy and some rich dark browns are best. Can do most colours in the right shade (can't everyone?) but blues are normally a failsafe win.

Colour analysis has changed sooooo much in the past few years - I think that lingering reputation of awful granny-ness is such a shame. The colours you say look good on you don't sound autumnal, but it does depend on shades (as you say, everyone can wear particular shades of most colours, which is why having a full analysis and explanation of how to actually live with that analysis in the real world is so useful - there are no blanket statements like 'you can't wear pink').

Thanks for everyone's helpful responses. I was wondering if I was a cool summer but I can't wear any shade of pink lipstick without it washing me out. I need lipstick too or I look ill! Summers always seem to be recommended pink lipstick or muted tones which don't work for me. I tend to wear bright red, berry or brick. Pretty strong colours really.

I can wear chocolate brown, teal that is green based, charteuse, violet purple, rich plums but not burgundy. The only light colour that looks fine greyed mint green. I just don't seem to fit into any of the 12 sub catergories- or perhaps I'm missing something?

Perhaps I'm some sort of Spring? Gaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........
