Which colour boots with mid wash blue jeans?

I bought a couple of pairs of mid wash blue jeans in the summer (different styles). Would you wear black or tan boots with them? I normally wear black boots, but wondering if tan might look better for a change (and I have a pair in mind!).

I never wear black boots with blue jeans so definitely tan or brown
