Leg warmers - how to wear?

So I bought some legwarmers on impulse. It was cold and they seemed cosy. I may have make a mistake - I'm short, especially in the leg, and plump.

They are a bit like these: www.hm.com/gb/product/95411?article=95411-A but a paler grey.

Is there any way to wear them that doesn't look ridiculous?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I would suggest wearing them in 1982Grin

I really feel the cold, so I wear them over my leggings, but under my jeans ! Susie [hsmile]

Poking out of the top of calf length boots is the only way I have seen of them not looking completely mad. Back when I cared less was cooler, I used to wear them with sneakers and a skirt and opaques.

Noren · 29/10/2012 09:45

:D Susie I think you're right there, I tried them on and they look very strange. I like the idea of with boots but I guess I'd need wide fit boots to make that work.

Do not wear them where they are visible to otHers. PLEASE Grin

daimbardiva · 29/10/2012 12:21

I wear them as described above - rumpled and just showing above calf-length boots

Pseudonymity · 29/10/2012 12:25

I would wear them on top of opaques or jeans and with a dress or skirt but others may balk at this [hgrin]

overmydeadbody · 29/10/2012 12:30

I wear them all the time over tights with boots over the top, or ruched down around my ankles with high top converse and tights and denim skirts. They hide my cankles and highlight my trim thighs Grin

PeriPathetic · 29/10/2012 12:39

Over leggings, with shortie Ugg-type boots, rumpled down.
(NB I don't live in the UK and this is the way I've seen them here so tried it and it works for me)

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 29/10/2012 12:45

Wear them with pride!

I sometimes wear them for work if I want the dress/tights/heels look but the weather is cold and more conducive to trousers or boots. I don't care that I'm absolutely possibly too old for them and definitely possibly look silly.

Uep, I wear mine as described and love them. They'll be getting more popular as women realise how much warmer they make you, and worn correctly, they can balance out chunky thighs.

out2lunch · 29/10/2012 15:10

yes as everyone else says with boots and don't forget to rumple them

reindeerjumper · 29/10/2012 16:57

They are so warm under boots. They got me through winter 2010.
