Long Tall Sally shop invite -anyone else had one?

As a result of a thread on here a while back, did anyone get an invite to a Long Tall Sally shop to discuss their clothes and try some on? I ve been invited to their York store in a few weeks - I think its really good they are listening to their customers and wanting feedback. Wondered who else is going to a LTS store, and which one they are going! to

Hey Dorothy - yes am making trek to York store on Fri 18 Oct. I'm looking forward to it. When are you going?

Northumberlandlass · 26/10/2012 20:49

Scratch that I am talking rubbish... I'm going Fri 16 Nov! (Sorry, long day!!) Grin

DorothyGherkins · 26/10/2012 21:37

I was thinking of turning up in trousers that are four inches too short, coat with sleeves that end at my elbows, and jumper that shows my muffin top!

Yup! Starbucks at 10am! Crikey meeting other MNetters..

Northumberlandlass · 26/10/2012 21:43

Are you travelling far? I'm coming from Northumberland..early start for me

DorothyGherkins · 26/10/2012 21:46

Gosh, you're keen! It just so happens I m going to be in York working the next few months, so I m about seven miles out. I was going to play the sympathy vote, come dressed as a bag of shite tied with string in the middle as I cant get clothes to fit, hoping they might give me a free winters coat!

I really wanted to be involved in it. I'm just on 6ft and would love to support LTS, but the clothes are good enough to justify the cost!

I'm looking forward to it Smile

If we are trying on clothes!

DorothyGherkins · 26/10/2012 21:57

Well I was imagining I d be the only one there, be much more fun in a group.

Yes, I m six foot tall, and its always the first place I look online, but I m generally disappointed. I ve had two weddings the last year - I really wanted to support them, but ended up buyiing Laura Ashley and Monsoon. Trousers never fit me, yes, they are long enough, but I can never get a pair where both the waist and hips fit, one always used to, but not both! And more than going out clothes (seldom go out) I just want lots of practical everyday clothes, shirts trousers tops etc, some nice sensible dresses if I need to go out some a bit dressed up. The fabrics are cheap and nasty, the dresses I ve looked at have been shoddily sewn, and the only pair of jeans I bought that really fit well, the zip came unstitched after the first wash. Not good is it.

And I forgot to mention, much too expensive for ordinary folk to afford.

I need about 35" inside leg, so really struggle in 'high street' stores. I am so used to wearing tops with 3/4 sleeve/short sleeve as I can't find decent tops with proper long sleeves.

I would love to find everyday / work clothes - essentials really. I haven't bought anything from LTS for years...

Pleased there will be someone else there!

DorothyGherkins · 26/10/2012 22:05

I can often pick up trousers in Asda George and Sainsburys these days, long length. And their ordinary long sleeved plain cotton tee shirts are quite good for sleeve length too. I think its awful a supermarket can do a better job than a specialist shop, and at a fraction of the price.

Oh yes!! Very expensive. I'll happily spend £38 for jeans in TopShop Tall.
I feel at LTS we almost get punished for being tall with prices!!

DorothyGherkins · 26/10/2012 22:09

But if you are a man, you can buy trousers/jeans 34" or 36" inside leg for normal prices. Its just not fair is it. (Know all about mens trousers!)
