Do you remember those belts that were made of big leather disks

With metal studs on them? Can't remember when I used to wear one, but I know I had one. Saw a girl with one on today, was a blast from the past!

Yes I had a white one. It was fucking horrible.

dexter73 · 24/10/2012 22:27

Worn with a gypsy skirt like Sienna Miller!

MikeLitorisBites · 24/10/2012 22:27

I used to wear an orange one with a gypsy skirt Blush

ceeveebee · 24/10/2012 22:28

Oh yes, worn low on the hips over bootcut jeans or cheesecloth maxi skirts, lovely

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker · 24/10/2012 22:30

Deirdre Barlow still wears them

I had one, with a gypsy skirt

In fact, it is probably still in my wardrobe, I might donate it to Granada Studios Smile

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker · 24/10/2012 22:30

God, what were we thinking ?

Curtsey · 24/10/2012 22:37

Oh come on.

They looked good with gypsy skirts. At the time.

They did!

At the time.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/10/2012 22:45

It was handy for hiding the fact I was pregnant in the first few months! Mine was khaki, it long ago went to the charity shop

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker · 24/10/2012 22:47

my frizzy perm and shoulder pads looked good

in the 80's

at the time Smile

I look better now, seriously

BeingBooyhoo · 24/10/2012 22:50

oh yes the deirdre belt! i had a couple of them about 8-10 years ago. one had big long leather tassles that always got caught in things.

GreenEyesAndHam · 24/10/2012 22:51

Still worn, I think you'll find, by the type of woman who still worships at the altar of Nicky Hambleton Jones.

Usually seen wearing a brown velour fitted jacket, over a dusky pink polo neck. A burgundy cord calf length skirt (fitted over hips and thighs, flaring out at the knee). Matching tights, and burgundy pull-on suede boots with a mid- heel. And of course, the leather disc belt.

GreenEyesAndHam · 24/10/2012 22:52

I did like the fashion for a low slung belt though, it suited my arse.
