Ok, it's my 40th in December. DH asked what I'd like and I'd like a really nice bag that will last ages. Problem is, I don't get much time to go shopping because I work and also have a 3 year old at home.
I'm looking for something that will sit on my shoulders without falling off. It needs to be a tote bag with two handles. I don't want anything fussy with buckles and pockets on the front. Preferably brown, maybe black. Leather, not patterned (though I don't mind the crocodile skin look). I don't want a bag that's sloppy and floppy, nor one that's too stiff. I want something that's large enough to accommodate the usual stuff plus a small brolly and A5 diary but not so huge that you end up fishing around in it in the dark. Pockets inside would be good to separate things, but especially somewhere for my iPhone so I can find the bloody thing when it's ringing.
Budget - not sure - not Mulberry prices but maybe up to £500. I think that's a LOT of money for a bag, hence it needs to last. Any suggestions where to begin gratefully received. I'm in the north west so have access to John Lewis/Selfridges/Harvey Nichols/House of Fraser for browsing purposes.
