Hello,

This has happened before - and it's just happened again with a Rimmel lipstick.
I buy a make up product and try to unwrap the seal (which usually has a bar code and possibly an alarm) and I'm left with a sticky product that feels horrible to use.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a knack to getting this off smoothly without all the sticky gunk staying on?

I have ruined a Max Factor eyebrow stick, as I've scrubbed the sticky stuff off and the lid both ends have split and falls off. I have used nail polish (it doesn't work)

It's driving me nuts!!

The lipstick is nice btw :)

Thanks

try wiping with methylated spirits.

A bit of baby oil should work.

HazleNutt · 19/10/2012 15:09

any oil works

A bit of acetone nail varnish remover wiped over it should reduce the stickiness.
Also, and this works for the labels on the soles of shoes too, if you put a hairdryer on hot over it for a few seconds it makes it peel off a bit easier.

I have some "sticky stuff remover" from Lakeland which I used on my new rimmel lipstick too - it really works!

Thanks for suggestions . The oil hasn't worked, but I'll try the hairdryer tip next.

The lipstick is really lovely. Kate Moss Rimmel shade 01
