should I relaunch my spring self courtesy of B or would my pennies be spent more wisely elsewhere? Never bought from them before!
I like fairly classic smart casual clothes by choice, not been trendy since my increasingly distant 20s.

Good for childrens clothes - I have trouble with the fit for myself. A lot of the tops are too short for me.

MissChief · 27/03/2006 14:16

aah, I'm tall too so might have same problem. but don't rate Long Tall Sally much

I have only ever been to LTS a few times - the stuff was expensive and nasty. I usually shop at Kew, Per Una/Limited Collection/Autograph at M&S, and Gap. Next is ok for a plain t-shirt. I am 5'8.

MissChief · 27/03/2006 14:23

too tight and too highly mortaged to buy Boden for the kids, I'm a different matter though Wink..well, my excuse is at least I don't grow out of clothes..though must cut down on the Green & Blacks

so how do Kew & B oden compare with Gap then?

OP posts:
cupcakes · 27/03/2006 14:26

Their tops are too short (I'm 5'7) and don't flatter large boobs. The trousers are generally too tight on the waist for me but have a pair on order at the moment so will see. But I do like their skirts. I've ordered a printed skirt and also a shirt and swimming costume.

Senoracod · 27/03/2006 14:26

kew tops far too short int eh body imo

also jumpers i get a large or xl if i want to layer

Fimbo · 27/03/2006 14:27

Kew is lovely and much cheaper than Boden. I got 2 t-shirts at the weekend from there and they were only £10 each. Hang on until I find a link...........

brimfull · 27/03/2006 14:27

I'm only 5'4" and I find boden tops too short after they've been washed.Love their skirts though and have a few jackets that I wear all the time.Haven't bought from kew and gap so can't compare.

cupcakes · 27/03/2006 14:27

Gap fits me better. Kew are generous for trousers but I find I need their tops in large rather than medium (it's usually the other way round).

Senoracod · 27/03/2006 14:27

yes tops too small
cant buy trousers form anywehre else than gap

all too logn in body

puff · 27/03/2006 14:28

Kids stuff great

ladies - much more hit and miss

I'm nearish their one and only shop and find some stuff very tatty looking for the price

Senoracod · 27/03/2006 14:28

aslo tried on some kew trousers inthe winter nad the material was very thin
alll lumps and bups shwoed

moondog · 27/03/2006 14:29

I used to kit out the entire family from there as I hate shopping, but went off it when i saw a sorry specimen in something i bought for my dh.
He looked...emasculated.
Not a look I want dh to cultivate, hence no more.
Trying to drum up energy to face the proles in the real shops.

\link{http://www.kew-online.com/kewwebshop/shopdetail.aspx?season=0601&sty_num=6015&sty_qual=247\Kew t-shirt}. I bought this in strawberry and grass green.

MissChief · 27/03/2006 14:32

like the Tee! much cheaper than Boden too, thanks for link will check it out..

OP posts:
Fimbo · 27/03/2006 14:33

The grass green looks nicer irl than on the website

Enid · 27/03/2006 14:38

I never buy the women's clothes

ubiquitous and crap fit IMO

kids clothes are pretty good though and last well

MissChief · 27/03/2006 14:40

hmm-think my Boden shopping basket won't reach checkout on the basis of this quick poll..Have to hit the high street, I think!
Never mind, that frilly pink cardy wouldn't have suited me Grin

Kids clothes are fabbo - worth it if you have same sex children so can hand them down (I've got 3 boys so deffo worth it)

I've got a couple of things - a tank top which I love and a coat - both great

Senoracod · 27/03/2006 14:57

yep boedn no fitteht me
think it sfor tall willowy types
hip-waist measurements are VERY odd

KenningtonKitty · 27/03/2006 15:24

The kids stuff resells for a fortune on E-Bay (that's where dd's stuff ends up!) - not sure about adults - but agree tops are too short and not good for well-endowed !

puddle · 27/03/2006 15:28

Good for kids as you can ebay them (especially if like me you have one of each to no hand me down potential). The nightwear is great as you can wash it to death and still looks nice.

I think the women's stuff is good quality but I don't like most of it. I do have a cardi from there that is 5 years old - still looks as good as new (and washes in the machine).

Gem13 · 27/03/2006 15:35

Tops are definitely too short and things are an odd cut.

Kew and Jigsaw had washed out colours when I thought I would 'shop' the other day. No nice raspberry, more washed out scarlet.

TinyGang · 27/03/2006 15:45

The price does put me off - but the tripe they write about the models and Johnny wittering on about it all and looking smarmy, tips the balance aginst them for me.
