I dyed it "dark brown" and it has turned out jeg black.

Many washes later it is still jet black and it is so solid the colour it look awful. Peoples comments are "oh your hair is very dark isn't it?" Which translates to "why the fuck is your hair that colour?"

I then decided that I would buy a reddy colour, which promises to show up on very dark brown hair so I thought a tinge of red would make it deeper, nicer. But no it is too black to show up.

I need to go and get it fixed don't I? I can't wear my hair in a bun forever! What do I ask them to do? IS there anything they can do? Highlights to break it up?

I am scared my hair will turn orange and fall out. I can provide witch hair photos if it will make you more sympathetic to my plight. Please help.

Okay, like others before me, if you are feeling brave enough to do this yourself & want to save £££, I suggest you get yourself Colour B4 - cheaper in wilkinsons & sainsburys. Get extra strength one. Buy 2 just incase you need to do it twice! And buy clairols one bottle 8 wash dye in light ash brown to apply immediately after Colour B4, this will banish any gingery tones left by CB4, if any. Follow the instructions to the letter with CB4, especially the rinsing part, it's time consuming & a bit smelly but worth it. Dont, whatever you do apply a permanent dye for at least 4 weeks after using CB4 or it will result in your hair going dark again. You can use a semi but pick a colour two shades lighter than you want to be so you dont risk going too dark. Having said all of that, the black hair on you doesn't look that bad!!!
