really really love duck egg blue (don't care if it's had its day)

problem is don't want to paint the kitchen bit that colour , it suits cream more

very hard to ask this without posting loads of pics of the room but does anyone have an open plan living space that is painted more than one colour?

Well the fire is lit because the late afternoon sunshine and swirling falling leaves inspired me towards cosiness. Absolutely love autumn as it is the only season which never disappoints in the UK. Tis a little too warm, truth to be told.......unless I am actually menopausal.....which would explain irrational poncetastic candle buying Hmm

We also have a playroom.

But no spice rack.

Am very jealous of all this out on lash behaviour.

Never watched Strictly....am I missing out?

Why not subtly turn up volume on tv when the complicated love life talk starts?

These threads always make me Envy. I would love to have a beautifully decorated house and be organised enough to own spice racks. As things stand I am always rummaging around in a chaotic cupboard, trying to find something which always turns out to be right at the back.

I'd feel silly buying autumn candles when my house needs more fundamental things doing to it!

I have no idea why spice racks are ridiculed - they seem like a very sensible idea to me.

Just realised, I haven't answered the Op's question at all - I think that if you have clearly defined zones within your open plan, then there is no reason why they shouldn't be different, but complementary colours. That said, mine is cream magnolia, because I have no imagination and am scared of colour.
