I am looking for brown leather boots to wear with skirts, dresses and occasionally leggings. flat or low heel.

I want something that will last a while and wear well.

Eyeing up some styles in Duo or Hobbs. Any views on which of these makes will last well? Any other ideas?

I have a pair of classic brown boots from Hobbs - the ones with an elastic panel up the side like a riding boot. I've had them about 7 years and they're still going strong. Re-heeled at least once but still looking lovely - I love them - really flattering but practical, go with anything.

I got some really love flat brown boots from clarks last year.

awaywego1 · 10/10/2012 23:08

Sorry said clarks but meant camper!

I have Hobbs boots, exactly as you have described, but black. They were tired and worn out and resoled last year. I don't want to wear them this year. I also have Camper boots. I don't really like them either. I am looking at JL boots this year. I haven't seen the ones I want.

The Hobbs heel is a bit too high. For me the Camper ones squeak and squelch.

Mumsnet have made me order some brown Mary Janes from Clarks, which should arrive tomorrow. So I can't comment yet, only to say that there'll be trouble at Style & Beauty's mill if they are not fantastic.

I got some lovely ones from Clarks. Haven't been a fan of theirs really, but looked on the off chance (maybe had a voucher) and saw lots of stuff I liked. They're called Orinoco Jazz...

I have the brown riding style boots from Jones - they are a bit Kate Middleton Grin I

I just was seeking new boots as well, found interesting shop online with unusual brands, these Cara boots look great:)

Mine are Pikolinos, bought 1/2 price for the princely sum of £45 some years ago in our out of town shoe ware house place.

Still giving excellent service

Ooo (slight thread hijack, sorry!) I'm looking for something similar only I need ones that aren't too loose around the calves

cornycarrotshack · 02/12/2012 13:34

Some gant ones on secret sales

To update: I splashed out on some Hobbs boots in the end. Tan, knee length.
They are my new best friends!
