Lyn Harris perfumes at M&S - gorgeous

Was just browsing today and came across this range of perfumes at M&S. They were created by a perfumer from Halifax called Lyn Harris - reading a bit about her, she is extremely talented and highly regarded and trained for years in France, v impressive. The range is called 'Lyn Harris'.

There are 6 scents - they only had 4 in store today but they were all just my sort of thing. Those of you who love florals will be in heaven. I bought 'La Poudree' - it's a powdery, slightly musky floral, quite classic rather than cutting edge, but if you're sick of stuff like 'Angel' you might just love it. And it's the first perfume I have smelled in years that made me swoon straight away Smile They are all £25 for 50ml eau de parfum which I think is a really good price. I've only been wearing it for an hour or so but it's lasting well so far and I have high hopes as it's eau de parfum.

Anyway, they won't be everybody's thing but if you like feminine scents, get yourself down to M&S and have a sniff Grin

I'm jealous.
I went into local m&s on Friday to look for these perfumes and they didn't have them.
Then tried to find a cardigan for myself - nope. Lots for my great-grandmother, though.
Saw a nice blouse in the sale for dd, took it to the tills and the "competent" lady refused to sell it to me as it was part of a 2 piece set. None of the same blouses in the sale had a 2nd piece attached to them.
Angry

M&S really can be infuriating. Some of their clothes are truly Shock, my MIL wears the 'Classic' collection skirts. They are horrendous but she's been wearing them for donkeys years so I keep my mouth firmly shut Smile

Good luck with finding the perfumes, they are really lovely

So pleased you posted about these. I think they are great. I liked all the floral ones, but thought they were all a bit similar. I actually bought Le Noir which is one of the 2 aimed at men. The store in Ealing did have all the scents but a very limited stock.
Excellent value. I think I may treat myself to a couple more and convince somebody to give them to me for Christamas.

OOh I like quite blokey smells - have been known to wear Next aftershave - so will check out Le Noir next. Was torn between the one I bought and 'Le Cologne' which was a fresh, lemony less floral scent.

May try to aim for the whole collection - good point about Xmas Wink

I am smelling the little sample cards as I type and Le Cologne is probably my favourite girly one. What do you think of the new M&S beauty department? Feels very "other" to me.

FIFIBEBE · 07/10/2012 22:06

According to the website Le Cologne is for men!! What do I know?

Lottapianos · 07/10/2012 22:53

Who cares?! If you like a smell then go for it! I often wear 'men' perfumes

Hey - FWIW these are by the woman behind "Miller Harris" = famously beautiful perfumes, including Terre de Bois etc. This is her 'diffusion' kinda line. The normal stuff is £££, but saw an article about it & she's done loads of work on the M&S collection & is really proud of them. Thanks for the reminder OP, will go & check them out tomorrow!

MaitreKarlsson · 08/10/2012 21:20

Also btw she said some of them are for men & women...
