Knee Boots that don't look like wellies

This has probably been done to death, but I'm really struggling as every winter I end up with freezing feet. I just can't find ANY knee boots that don't end up looking like wellies. I'm quite short and a size 10/12, with size 4/5 feet. Can anyone make any suggestions - I know about Duo but their boots are so expensive, do I just have to suck up the cost? Someone also suggested children's boots instead - will this work and will the sales assistants think it's weird that I'm buying from the kids section? Every year I go out, try on boots and then give up.

This has been going on for about four years now (no joke) and this year I'm determined I'm going to get some damn boots.

TIA

Brown boots?

Biker-style boots?

Heeled boots?

I think is you stay away from flat, black and shiny you have a decent chance of them not looking like wellies.

Clarks have some lovely stuff at the moment, lots with furry lining. I'm not sure kids shoes go beyond a 5 but if they do you'll avoid the VAT, so go for it.

Thank you - I should have added, I need them flat and comfy! Like the sound of fur lined ones, will check out Clarks...
