Shampoo with hairdye in it?

I'm sure I read on here yesterday about a new shampoo that has added hair dye in it, which just brightens your hair colour each time you wash it. Does anyone know what it is called please?

Idk what the new one is but I have a Toni and guy one? I use a red brunette colour

I used to love the vo5 colour shampoos, they were amazing but alas discontinued. Think Superdrug does some similar in colourant section.

John Frieda used to do a glaze with a colour in it for post shampoo. Think it has gone too....

You could try Aveda colour shampoos - they are nice and potent (if a bit expensive).

I have the Aveda black malva conditioner and it covers my (hated) highlights perfectly, so I think it could work on greys. The black malva is for dark hair, there's another colour for light brown, one for reds and one for blondes - I think the conditioners are the ones which deposit the most colour, so I'd go for those rather than the shampoos.

Superdrug do one - it is a small bottle, various shades, can't find it online, but I like it much better than using hair dye. Use it once a week at most, good for covering a bit of grey, it is cheap and very easy to use, leave it on for five minutes then rinse off, the more you use it the more intense the coverage. I usually have a few shades in so I swap between different colours. It is called Colour Effects

ooh I'm tempted to rty this to see if it tones down my grey to blend in a bit.

Does it dye or colour your scalp too though?

Norbert, I have never had any problems with my scalp getting stained with the colour. I use it to tone down my few greys, I have quite dark hair but not a lot of grey, it seems to work for me.

Do Boots do one? Its just that we no longer have a Superdrug here.

I've just bought this after reading the thread, will report back tomorrow.

I'm loving this, have used it three days in a row, just left on for two mins or so, but is really blending out the grey and leaves my hair feeling good too.
It says up to three applications, but I use a small amount, and say I'll easily get ten.
Less than £2 too.

It's bloody brilliant.
My hair is in terrible condition, so too fragile to dye properly, and my lungs can't take the fumes.
This is great at blending out the grey, cheaply, and easily.

I also have a bottle sitting upstairs.
How are you using it? Wash, condition with normal stuff, and then colour conditioner? Or was and colour?

Strongly recommend the Aveda ones. Wouldn't personally go for a cheaper alternative but that's just me being feeble.

nextphase - use it as a normal shampoo, sometimes I put it on my hair dry - leave it for 5 mins then wet/lather/rinse. When my hair was longer I always conditioned the ends afterwards. Now I don't bother. I have never used it more than twice in one week.

polyhymnia I usually am very fussy about what I use on my hair. I like Faith in Nature shampoo and conditioner but for me this stuff is the lesser of two evils! I also hate dyeing my hair, such a faff and I don't like how my hair feels after a few months of using dye.

I'm just using it as normal shampoo, but leaving on for a couple of minutes, then tiny bit of conditioner.
It's building up nicely, and once it's the shade I like, I'll just top up a couple of times a week.
I like Percy and Reed hair products, but this is great for a cheapy.
