http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Boat-Neck-Knitted-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2240586&SearchQuery=asos%20navy%20dress&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Navy. I've never bought any ASOS brand stuff before, but it's bargainous, 100% cotton, feels so cosy and great quality. Also not as short on me (5'5") as it looks in the picture.

I like it, but my boobs would look vast I fear.

I would wear it with leggings, boots and a scarf, or possibly a statement-type necklace and opaques if I was going somewhere smart.

Thank you for this. I saw this thread in active convos, ordered the dress that evening and I love it! I am 5"2 and have a bit of a tummy but I think the fact it is drawn at the waist in makes it flattering.

Anything else I should look at? (this is my kind of shopping!)

CakeInMyFace · 26/09/2012 12:59

Mine arrived yesterday and I LOVE it! It is really flattering - could use some tips with accessorizing though, am not so good at adding scarves, etc. I'm tempted to get it in the grey too....

NettoSuperstar · 26/09/2012 13:03

Arrived this morning, have just put it on and love it.
Fantastic buy.

TheBirdsTheBirds · 26/09/2012 13:16

So pleased most of you like yours! My blue one is in the wash now :( But hoping the grey will be delivered today! Have a feeling I'm going to live in them this autumn, they are so simple and useful.

I'm wearing the grey, with a long cream gilet, the same length as the dress.
It looks nice, well I think so, and I have flat biker boots on too.

I don't think the blue would suit me or I'd order that too.

NettoSuperstar · 26/09/2012 13:31

Owl dress came too, also looks fantastic.
I don't like the flouncy sleeves, but I have no intention of wearing it without a cardi.
I tried it with a cropped black one and it went well.
Have ordered flat brown boots to go with it.

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 26/09/2012 14:54

I just ordered it too. I am easily led!

CakeInMyFace · 26/09/2012 18:35

What's the owl dress?

NettoSuperstar · 27/09/2012 07:47

I linked to it up thread, another MN rec.
I need to stop reading these threads, it's expensiveGrin

TheBirdsTheBirds · 27/09/2012 10:06

If anyone's still umming and ahhing over whether to try the Asos dress, they are doing free next day delivery today. Not that I'm on Asos looking for more clothes... Grin

I love this dress but they have sold out in my size. I suspect at 5'10 with a tummy it wouldn't suit anyway Sad.

IShallPracticeMyCurtsey · 27/09/2012 11:19

ARGH so okay despite 'spending freeze' I caved and bought this. Just arrived today and I LOVE it! This is an absolute hero of a dress. Length is perfect on 5'2 me. It goes with pretty much every pair of shoes I own. Only problem is, I can't decide whether it looks better with a skinny belt or without. It looks good both ways. Thank you again to TheBirds!

NettoSuperstar · 27/09/2012 12:40

Blue's not really my colour, but I love the dress so much I went to order it anyway, but it's sold out in my size.
If anyone has the blue size 8 and doesn't want it can they let me know please so I can buy it off them.

IShallPracticeMyCurtsey · 27/09/2012 13:07

They might re-stock. You could send a quick email maybe.

thisthreadwilloutme · 27/09/2012 14:02

I've ordered one in each color. Might have to stay in tomorrow until they arrive!

NettoSuperstar · 27/09/2012 14:55

Will check daily to see.

trixymalixy · 27/09/2012 16:44

I have a 14 in blue that will be going back unless someone is desperate for it as its now out of stock.

PippiL · 27/09/2012 16:49

Uh oh, that dress better look good on both tits and arse as my finger slipped and I ordered both grey and blue on the plastic fantastic.

Liked the sound of it being 100% cotton. Dresses like that are hard to find for £30.

NettoSuperstar · 27/09/2012 17:01

I'd say it does make your boobs look larger, not bad on me as a 34b, but it is flattering on the bum.
I'm an 8, but pear shaped, and it is great on the hips/thighs/arse.

PippiL · 27/09/2012 17:11

Size 12 with 32Es! But have a smallish waist after having lost a considerable amount of weight and although my legs aren't like a race horse's it would be nice to get them out a bit more.

Damn them and their next day delivery which ended at 5pm. I was under time pressure!

Beingblonde · 29/09/2012 09:27

Trixy I have PM'd you about the blue size 14!

NettoSuperstar · 29/09/2012 09:35

I've had so many compliments on this dress.

trixymalixy · 29/09/2012 12:58

Have pmed you beingblonde.

lurkingaround · 29/09/2012 19:17

I'm new to this thread (how did I miss it), but I think the dress might be too short and too high on the neck. BUT while I was shopping just looking around, I saw this knitted dress which has what looks like a v flattering neckline and shape. Again, short for me I think, but nice eh? 5cm longer and it would be mine.
