Denim skirt... what tights/boots?

Help! I have a great denim skirt but can't figure out what colour thick tights/boots go with it...

Is my denim skirt doomed?

I thought thick grey tights would go well, but they look strange.

Not sure about black and denim...

I wear thick tights with mine in several different colours (apart from blue that looks like the denim). I usually wear black or brown knee length boots with them.

What are you putting on the top half?

I've got a nice denim skirt ,just above knee length.
I'd put it with black opaque tights, long black flat boots (or heels but I can't walk in heels ) and a black twinset.

Then pretend to be very sophisticated and understated.

I did think about putting it with my lace tights but I'd look like Shurl from Eastenders

I normally wear Falke blue tights and black boots.

I got great black Calvin Klein herringbone tights from tk maxx 2 pairs for £7.99 this week, I also buy woolly tights in black from h&m kids section, the 13-14yr old fit (I'm 5'4" size 10).

Herringbone/a pattern sounds good, glad to know black opaque looks fine,

Navy woolly tights (m and s) with tan or brown boots should def look good. Dont really like black with denim!
