Max Factor Brightening Mascara - what colour for hazel eyes

If you spend over £12. at Max Factor at Boots at the moment you get a free brightening mascara in a choice of brown, blue or green & you pick the same colour as your eyes. My eyes are hazel so do I go for brown?

There is a hazel one but its not been released in the UK, anyone know why?

Oooh. I'd go for brown probably in your case, but I'm excited about the sound of that offer... Must get myself down to Boots later!!

I've got hazelly/brown eyes (more brown than green) . I love blue mascara - but navy rather than 80's disco.

I do have the 80s disco blue Blush but I put a black on the top so you get just a hint.

Dark plum is lovely on hazel/brown/green too (but I see they don't have that)

I wondered about this too. I think you should go for the one that matches what you'd like your eye colour to be more like - ie, if you want them to look greener, go for the one for green eyes.

I have a plum one from L'Oreal which is really nice - I have hazel eyes.

I'd go for green only because I already have a brown mascara, otherwise I'd go for brown as I know it looks nice on my eyes.

I'm never quite sure what hazel eyes are- looking at eye colour online, hazel is classed as a light golden brown, (my Mum has this eye colour), but at school they told me my eyes were hazel- mine are green with dark blue around the rim and yellow flecks (! I sound like a carpet) so what colour IS hazel?

MsArseBiscuit · 20/09/2012 18:17

That's a very good question, Helly, I always assumed it was greeny-brown ( that's what mine are, with some golden flecks around the iris ) but maybe it's not. Perhaps an eye colour expert will clear it up for us.

Hellymelly - mine sound similar to yours but mostly look more green than brown (sometimes a really bright green when tired or drunk!) so, I describe them as hazel green eyes. And you can of course get hazel brown eyes if mostly brown. Hazel green eyes definitely suit plum/purple eyeshadow and mascara.

I have that Max Factor for green eyes but haven't actually noticed much difference so shall go back to layering black and purple - the Estee Lauder is expensive but really good, although I believe they have repackaged it as a doubled ended (purple and black) one.
