Hair Colouring for Thick Hair

I've got thick below shoulder length hair, and have just bought a Loreal recital Preference hair colour.

Im wondering if I should use two packs as my hair is so thick? Anyone else done this?

Also, do you do an allergy test if you use a different brand? I've coloured in the past with no problem, but not with this brand before?

Any suggestions please?!?!

You're meant to do a test every time - I wonder how many people do? I don't! My hairdresser with thick hair told me also with thick hair to leave the dye on for longer than they advice. I did for the first time last week (for about hour and half) and it's taken much better than normal - no grey showing at all

Thats interesting. I think I'd be a bit scared to leave it on for that long though. It says twenty mins on the box so perhaps I'll double it.

What shade was yours? Was it for brown hair? I don't want it to turn ginger or something...
