Scarf virgin buys first ever scarf - more scarfing advice required

So I bought a scarf today. It is from Fat Face, is navy with flowers and is a kind of loopy thing. I hate scarfs and stuff getting in my way in general but this seems to be ok.
So now I just need to know what I can wear it with. Can a patterned scarf be worn with a stripy Breton top? My instinct says no to patterns and stripes but I hve seen other women putting them together. What about a plain top but a patterned skirt ? I have a butterfly print skirt, but will a flowery pattern look odd with a butterfly print? Any suggestions for nice loopy scarves in greys?

I mix prints, today I am wearing a navy Breton stripe jumper and a grey zebra print scarf (the animal, not the pattern).

Grey zebra sounds nice, is it a snood one or a long one? Today i've worn it with plain navy top and jeans, will try to experiment.

It's a continuous loop one, so I guess snood like. I got it from primark, don't know if its still in stock. Primark are good for scarves, always worth a look.
